Personal bio

Hello cohort A(wesome)!

You already know my name. And you know all of this other info too, but for assignment's sake you can read it again... I grew up in Salem and thought I'd never come back here after I moved to Washington for school but here I am! Back in fantastic and exciting Salem. I also thought I'd never move back home but that's where I live. I also thought I'd never be a teacher... Lesson learned in my life is that nothing ever turns out how you expect it to!

Originally I wanted to go into social work. I graduated from PLU with a degree in Sociology and worked for a short amount of time at an adoption agency which was a big gigantic snoozer. So, I did some self reflection and decided to head a different direction. Also, I didn't get into any MSW programs so I guess I was forced to either be a coffee worker for life or go and do something completely different. So, after my deep reflection, I realized that much of my volunteer work that I had done and enjoyed most was working with kids so I decided on teaching. Once that happened, things fell into place and doors just kept opening for me and wala!

Originally I thought I'd like to teach early childhood elementary but I am becoming increasingly more open to 3-5.

Hobbies: I can often be found on pinterest (thanks to Megan R.) pinning wedding and/or cat pictures. I advise you not to sign up until after graduation. Most of the time I am doing homework :)

And now it's time for ELE methods! The end :)

  1. Sorry to make you repeat this bio, but at least it helps me to get to know you a little (and your future students will appreciate it, too :)

Your degree in sociology should align nicely with the new skills you will acquire on your way to becoming a master teacher. Welcome aboard.
